Brief and project description

TRUE is a European project focused on promoting the adoption of blockchain technology within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The initiative addresses the limited standardization and interoperability of academic records across Europe by exploring how blockchain can provide secure, transparent, and tamper-resistant mechanisms for managing educational credentials.

The project aims to equip universities and higher education professionals with the knowledge and skills required to understand, implement, and benefit from blockchain-based solutions. By leveraging decentralized technologies and cryptographic validation mechanisms, TRUE contributes to enhancing trust, transparency, and portability in the management of learning outcomes and academic achievements.

A central objective of the project is the development of an integrated training strategy for blockchain adoption in higher education. This includes the creation of a competency framework for blockchain experts within HEIs, educational resources tailored to academic staff, and innovative learning tools that support digital transformation in education.

To maximize impact and accessibility, TRUE delivers a comprehensive training ecosystem comprising a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), specialized training materials, and a serious game that enables participants to explore blockchain concepts through interactive learning experiences.

By fostering digital skills development and technological readiness, TRUE supports European higher education institutions in preparing for the future of secure, decentralized academic information systems.
